February 2009 FSA Update For AII Reporting

The FSA recently published a website update on the project to implement Transaction Reporting using the Aii code.

FSA is now targeting 21 September 2009 as a revised implementation date and this information will also be made available through the next edition of MarketWatch (20 February 2009).

The update can be obtained through the Transaction Monitoring Unit web pages or directly using the link below:

    http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/Doing/Regulated/Returns/mtr/aii_update.shtml

A further potential addition to the AII implementation project is the introduction of the new derivative types which FSA consulted on in CP08/16: Quarterly Consultation (No.18).

In the event that these proposed rule changes are accepted by the FSA board we will look to ensure that they are implemented along with the AII code to minimise the amount of change and testing required by the industry.
